Prepare your kids for the future! At New Media Gallery, our school programs bring Arts & Culture into play with science, math and technology. Using technology in a creative way, along with imagination, ingenuity and understanding, is vital in today's world. We use STEAM; an integrated approach to education, critical thinking and creative problem-solving. New Media Gallery has been called Vancouver's best-kept secret. Opened in 2014, we've become one of the most visited galleries in Vancouver! We attract the most talented artists in the world. Your students will be introduced to fascinating world-class exhibitions that fuse art and creativity with technology and science. With the help of our Curators and Creative Tech Instructors, your students will explore subjects like space, biometrics, nature, surveillance, music and genetics (to name a few!). Our goal is to integrate imagination into all our school programs. Every program we offer begins with an awe-inspiring tour through the current exhibition and a question period. Then the workshop begins! Our Creative Tech Workshops bring littlebits into play! littlebits are a colourful library of modular electronics that snap together using small magnets. Our goal is to break down complex technologies so everyone can build, prototype and invent! These techno components are easy to use and infinitely creative. Kids are freed up to use their wild imaginations.
