Come to Rope Runner Aerial Park this season to experience the unique aerial activity! Rope Runner provides a safe environment for students to push their limits, gain self-confidence, develop problem-solving skills, communication and team spirit. While simultaneously building on their curriculum core competencies.

How does it work? 

  • After a brief introduction and a safety briefing, your group will have full reign of the rope course to explore and challenge themselves across 50 fun elements such as suspended bridges, cargo nets, climbing walls, zip rides and more! 

  • The safety system always keeps everyone safe and secured and our Guides are consistently roaming in the park to provide tips and tricks and help out as needed.

  • Climbers are creating their own adventures, at their own pace within their capacity and can stop playing at any time. The park is suited for all skill levels.

 

Age and Height requirements

In order for a student to climb they must:

  • Be at least 7 years old and be 124cm (49 inches) tall *

  • Be at least 10 years old and be 139cm (55 inches) tall to climb alone in the park **

 

* The child to adult chaperone ratio for children under 55″ tall is 2:1
** Children under 19 years of age must have a consenting parent or legal guardian sign their release of liability waiver

This tour offers a balanced overview of the cemetery as an historical resource. Learn the stories of some of British Columbia's most prominent people, as well as some of the lore, symbolism, and customs associated with cemeteries.

Want to enjoy the bounty of a productive urban farm day without worrying about planning and planting months in advance? Come join us for the best part of the season... eating delicious, fresh, local produce! Tour the farm and explore what’s currently growing while learning about our organic, low-till practices. Students will find themselves helping out with each step of the process: harvesting, washing, and preparing a salad for everyone to enjoy. We’ll also make a delicious dressing by hand (with honey from our bees!) to complement the meal we share together at the tour’s conclusion.

Students learn about the unique life cycle of Pacific Salmon. Discover what salmon need to survive and what makes healthy salmon habitat. Students also experience the obstacles salmon face during their migration through interactive games. LEPS workshops take place in YOUR CLASSROOM in LANGLEY, ABBOTSFORD or SURREY school districts.

Understand the role of salmon as a Cultural Keystone Species for Indigenous Peoples on the West Coast of Canada in Salmon People! 

Salmon is, and always has been, central to the lives, economies, and cultures of many Indigenous Peoples of the West Coast. Understanding this significance is central to understanding the worldviews of the Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial.  

Engage with replica fishing tools, explore fish species, and learn about past and present Indigenous fishing methods through storytelling and a variety of Indigenous-created resources.

THIS WORKSHOP, OFFERED VIRTUALLY, WILL INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE BASICS OF SCRATCH AS THEY WORK TO CREATE AN INTERACTIVE GREETING CARD.

In this workshop we will start with a discussion around what coding is and why it’s an important skill to learn. We will then do a brief introduction to the Scratch website and review all of the features before we begin coding. Following an I do – We do – You do model, we will work towards building an interactive greeting card that will use motion, looks, sound, backgrounds, and events. Students will leave the workshop with a solid foundation of Scratch coding skills so that they can continue to experiment with their own ideas!

Playland presents Amusement Park Science & Physics, an enrichment experience designed to enhance your student’s knowledge and understanding of how the science they learn in the classroom applies to the world around them. Since 1988, over 100,000 students from BC have experienced Science of Fun and Science & Physics Days at Playland. Students in Grades 4 to 7 can learn about forces and simple machines, electricity and energy transformations, the human body, and more using the curriculum guide with grade appropriate experiments developed by Jim Wiese, author of Amusement Park Science. https://www.pne.ca/playland/schools/
